HOW TO FIND A
There are many Girlfriends who have a desire to do the work of evangelism, yet they have lacked the outreach tools in which to do so. We realize that some may use great generic tracts with good information; however, even those tracts fail to draw people directly toward you as the seed planter or to your church or ministry as the seed waterer for the purpose of kingdom building so God will give the increase.
Well, Girlfriends In Christ has developed an evangelism brochure as part of our Caring and Sharing Evangelistic Outreach Ministry called, How To Find A Good Church. It can be used by church or ministry leaders and laypersons as well who simply have the heart to seek and save the lost during these last days.
There are many unchurched individuals in our world, however many times we see more member swapping from church to church rather than new believers coming into the church. It is our belief that people who understand how to seek God's guidance as they embark upon seeking a place of worship will stay planted much longer and grow much stronger.
There are two versions of the How To Find A Good Church brochure available, (1) with a place for you to stamp or place a label with your own personal name, church, ministry or organization information on the cover or (2) with only the standard Girlfriends In Christ information on the cover. With either of these versions the only thing you need to do is take it to your local office supply store, photocopy them, fold them and pass them out. It's just that simply.
Pass them out in the grocery store, in the bank or anywhere you go in your day-to-day travels. For those of you who have never gone out to evangelize, distributing this brochure is a great first start. The wonderful part about this brochure is that it allows you to share with both the churched and unchurched the importance of finding a church home without them feeling that you are pushing your particular church on them directly. It is one of the best non-threatening approaches to evangelism because it doesn't assume that they don’t have a church home, but it also doesn't assume that they do. On the front cover it says, "Copy and Share This Brochure With Someone Today!" So if those you meet in your daily walk are content where they currently fellowship they can use it as an evangelism tool, too.
The contents of the How To Find A Good Church brochure include:
1. Look for a church prayerfully.
2. Search out good prospects.
3. Keep in mind that you're looking for a fellowship of believers.
4. Look for a church that preaches the Word of God.
5. Look for a church that has good character.
6. Look for a church that will help you draw closer to Christ.
7. Look for a church where you can become committed.
8. Seek a fellowship that is attempting to reach lost souls.
9. Look for a church where you can contribute.
10. Be ready to accept the individuality of a church.
11. Look for a church with reasonable expectations.
It also has a Sinner's Prayer and encourages new believer's to deepen and develop a more intimate relationship with God. There is no specific church or denomination referenced in the brochure. However, in keeping with our statement of faith water baptism is encouraged.
We realize that everyone that has the heart to do the work of evangelism may not have the money to make a contribution at this time. As such we would not want to halt the work of kingdom building because of it. So, these beautifully prepared tri-fold brochures are available to you "free of charge".
